Isabelle grew up with art around her, since her mother is an artist, and started painting herself at an early age.
Being born in the north, the nature has always been her biggest source of inspiration, and she find herself most in direct contact with life particularly in Lofoten, where she spend a lot of her time. She finds the contrast between city life in Oslo, and the nature life in Lofoten to be a perfect harmony and very inspirational. Giving her the oppurtunity to appreciate each place with its own uniqe aspect. “Art is everywhere, in the mountains, in the city, in the ocean, around the cornershops, everywhere”.
Her style is mostly abstract, yet growing her interest in the figurative, and loves to play in-between the two. One could say her expression is quite powerful with a great sense of focus on light and contrasts, composition and color use.
Her first exhibition was at age 19, and she has since then had many successful Exhibitions in Oslo (in places like Tjuvholmen, Frogner, Kværnerbyen, Skillebekk, Skøyen and Kolbotn..) and several places in Lofoten, including her own gallery at Å in 2014/15.
She works full time as an artist, with her base in Oslo most of the year. Her paintings are to see in restaurant and galleries in Lofoten, and has exhibitions in Oslo every year.
She is self-taught by choice, but has studied design in London and has a Bachelor Degree in Management and Leadership from Volda, Norway.
